Change in Semesters

Haas Computing Services (HCS) has been supporting Catalyst as it's learning Management system since Fall 2002. In order to support year round operations in the business school, HCS has adopted the following procedures for uploading and storing data to facilitate smooth transitions from one semester to the next.

    • Course information will be stored on an HCS server for a period of at least 6 years. Faculty, students and staff can continue to access data from previous semesters simply by changing the semester name in the courses drop down menu. Click on the Courses button at the left of the screen. Then select the semester you want to view from the pull-down menu.

The current or active semester will appear as the default semester until finals are over, or the next semester begins. Faculty and students are able to visit any semester available in the system. The amount of data you'll have access to for each semester will vary according to your enrollments for that semester.

A basic framework for the upcoming semester will be made available on-line in Catalyst approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the beginning of the official UC semester. Loading the data is contingent upon the availability of the course schedule from the Dean's Office. Mailing lists for courses and discussion groups expire 3 weeks after the end of the semester.
