1. Catalyst Directory Services is composed of two components:

• A place to update and maintain Personal information and choose whether or not to “publish” this information for use by other Catalyst constituents.
• And a Directory Search button that allows you to access whatever information other Catalyst users are willing to share.

This page focuses on UPDATING your personal information.

2. Click on the Personal button to see what information Catalyst currently has on you. This information is compiled from various pertinent campus databases such as Academic Affairs, BearFacts, CalNet Directory, and the Haas Network.

3. UC Contact Info comes from CalNet Directory.

4. Professional Contact Info exists only in Catalyst.

5. To update or add to your information click on the Edit button located in the upper right hand corner.

Once in Edit mode you will ONLY see text fields for items you can edit from this location.

6. If you have a Preferred name enter it here. The default salutation is “Mr.” change this if needed.

Please be aware Catalyst Directory searches look for "Preferred" and "Last" names only, NOT legal names.

7. If you need to update your UC Contact information you'll be redirected to make those changes at CalNet Directory Services.

8. Professional Contact Information was added to Catalyst's Directory Services to expand students' networking opportunities by sharing this information with other Haas/Catalyst affiliated colleagues.

9. Because this is an optional service, the default setting on all these fields is "Hide"; meaning none of the information you've entered will be displayed until you uncheck the hide box and choose to publish it.

10. Click on the Update button at the bottom of the page to confirm your change.

Note: A date and time stamp will be logged.

11. This view is an AFTER screen shot of the Personal Info section after updating it in Catalyst's Directory. Since this is a view of one's own information, you should see all updates and changes to your profile.

12. This view displays the information other Catalyst users will see. In this example, other users will see results consistent with the hide and publish settings used above.

All hidden fields are displayed as "Not Published".

You are free to update any of your information and any time and choose to publish it or not.
